Re: Feeling Betrayed by the MS Society of Canada

Updates? I'm interested in seeing if the gathered signatures have made any effect; I assume probably not. I did sign your petition and I think this is a disgrace!

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

Thank you for your reply, Jaredboy! Very enlightening and interesting to hear the details of your own personal issues with these various MS medications, haha. My unknown JCV status was just one issue I was having with this medication. (I got tested for my JC Viral status, finally, and my neuro never...

Are we allowed to give away medication?

I have one full unopened bottle of a month's supply of Tecfidera as well as an additional bottle that probably has about a week and a half's worth of Tec doses left. I am no longer going to be taking this medication because I'm forgetful af and I never take it; obviously since I haven't been taking ...

Re: For those of you thinking about starting on Tecfidera

I’ve been on Tecfidera for around 5 months now, and when I first started I didn’t have any symptoms. After reading about and being told about all the side effects that were likely to happen while taking this medication, I was not optimistic when I started it. The lack of side effects at the beginnin...

Re: Potential New Symptoms

Thank you Lyndacarol!! I appreciate all of your input throughout this thread. I’m planning on keeping up with my 10,000 IU/day vitamin D dosage, since it seems to have done me a lot of good and has lead to a steady increase in my vit D levels :) I’m very much hoping that the rest of my results come ...

Re: Potential New Symptoms

I've received a bunch of my test results, including my VITAMIN B12, VITAMIN D 25 HYDROXY, TSH, HEPATIC FUNCTION PANEL & CBC WITH DIFFERENTIAL tests. (Yes I just copy & pasted all those names from my online chart). I don't personally see anything out of the ordinary. My vitamin B12 level is low, but ...

Re: Potential New Symptoms

My new neuro is the best! I’m so pleased with the results of my appointment today, although there is no relief from these sudden flare ups of symptomatic disease activity. I didn’t even have to bring up vitamin D - the neuro beat me to it. A whole page of blood tests were ordered for me today; they ...

Re: Potential New Symptoms

I had my tests re-done after finishing the course of large-dose Vitamin D that summer and at that point my levels are become normal. And ever since then I've been taking a minimum of 10 IU of Vitamin D per day, so I find it highly unlikely that I'm Vitamin D deficient again. However, I got into the ...

Potential New Symptoms

I've been having a helluva time lately. I've been on Tecfidera for months now - probably about four, and it's only recently that I've been experiencing some sudden and sometimes rather severe instances of what is I'm sure either a side effect from the medication, or a symptom of my MS becoming more ...

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

turns out the rash was unrelated - it was a plant allergic reaction. Which means I still don't have any known side effects of taking tec. I've spoken to a few people and they tell me not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I still can't help but be suspicious! I legitimately have the worst luck i...

Re: I feel like no one understands

I’m really sorry your family is having difficulty understanding the details and facts of your diagnosis; that can be really difficult! I was diagnosed this past January at 23 years old as well. I’d had symptoms for a few years, namely body parts experiencing long-term numbness and flashes in my visi...

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

So I got my white blood cell count - it's still in the normal range, and while that's a relief if doesn't help clear up the mystery of this sudden abnormal rash!

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

has anyone ever gotten a rash side effect from taking Tecfidera? I've been on Tecfidera for a while now, almost 2.5 months, and all of a sudden I've developed a rash that my dr believes is somehow related to the Tecfidera. She doesn't know if it's a side effect or just a rash that took advantage of ...

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

for the past two days I've been super busy in the mornings, and I've forgotten to take my first dose of tecfidera on time. Both days I only ended up remembering at around 8:30 in the evening, so I have taken my first dose at 8:30 pm & the second dose at around 11:30 before I go to bed. This is only ...

Re: First Month on Tecfidera Going Suspiciously Well...

I ended up sending my neurologist a strongly (but politely) worded email explaining my concerns and linking all the research that I have done. I'm going to request that I undergo a CBC to check my white blood cell count every six months - my neuro said he had planned to just check it yearly barring ...
