IIRC, eosinophilia is a marker of severe (or not-so-severe) allergic reaction. What did your doc say about its cause? There's no way to know for certain. Eosinophilia isn't a reaction that is as immediate as anaphylactic shock. But we stopped the Tysabri, and the eo's went away. We (me, the doctors...

Yes. I had some itching, and some hives, just a few here and there. Nothing I worried about. They started after about month 8. Then I developed eosinophilia. My Eo's kept going up... 14%, 20%, 30%... and the Tysabri was discontinued. : ( My bloodwork is normal now. Except that now I also have rheuma...

Tysabri--

It's all good. I have not been posting much because I am still weaning from my pain meds: if you'll remember, I was taking up to the equivalent of 256 mg of Morphine a day, but in the form of Dilaudid (hydromorphone). Turns out it's a very tough drug to kick. I took all the painkillers because...

Tysabri infusion #2 tomorrow at 10:00 am. I wasn't nervous until two hours ago... Now I'm starting to unravel just a bit. My husband changed his schedule around so that he'll be there in case my immune system has decided it doesn't like Tysabri... He's an anesthesiologist, gets the IV's in everywher...

I'm still alive up here in Oregon! Life is still good. I don't feel as great this week because... deep breath... I am in narcotic withdrawal. From oxycontin and my faaaaaaavorite drug, Dilaudid. (I've been on Dilaudid since June of 06 because Rebif gave me an intractable headache. Thanks, Rebif. :ro...

Okay! My first infusion went well. Yesterday after my infusion I felt better than I'd felt in nearly two years. Y'all know that horrible fatigue...? The fatigue where you feel like someone is holding your head underwater and only letting you up to breathe half as often as everyone else...? It was GO...

Hi--

Haven't posted for a long time, but I'll have my first Ty infusion on February 5th at 2:00 pm. Quite nervous. Fingers crossed, praying to all possible deities...

Glad this forum is here. I'll post my experiences soon.

Re: Another Tysabri article

It seems to me that the drugs companies are setting the exam questions, selecting those to take the exam, and marking the exam. No wonder that they always report good results. Very well put. That's how it seems to me, too. They choose who gets to play on their team, and voila! Their team wins. When...

So, here's the question.... What makes the fat cells secrete leptin? Are they more likely to secrete leptin when they're hungry? OR when they're satisfied and well-fed? This question concerns me because I work hard to keep my weight "normal". Last year I worked out 4-5 days a week and foll...

Okay, I just found a site with some more details about the upcoming clinical trial. From http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=show&pageid=1312 : "Of the 150 patients participating in the trial, 100 will receive Tovaxin and 50 will receive the placebo." So... only 150 patients wil...

Please note, ALL of the below are just my thoughts and not from a thorough investigation. 1. rebif has an effective rate quoted at 30%. Which is slightly less than 1/3. 2. rebif from my understanding hasnt got the history of improvements that we hear people on tovaxin supposedly have reported. 3. r...

I emailed Ms. Inman, the Tovaxin contact, in mid-November. I want to be included in the clinical trial. On December 5th I received this email in response: Hi XXXX, I will place you on the TERMS study waiting list and will notify you when a site has been selected closer to your home in Oregon. Thanks...
