Re: Stanford successfully injects stem cells directly into b

Regarding Stanford study for injecting stem cells in the brain. In case of MS , what if the damage is mostly in the spine not the brain? Just a guess, but I would assume they are injecting the stem cells into the spinal fluid, which surrounds the brain and is shared with the brain. According to the...

Re: RE ALEMTUZUMAB SEEN TOSLOW DISEASE PROGRSSION BY TARGETI

I also found this quote at the top of the Lemtrada website: LEMTRADA is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS). Because of its risks, LEMTRADA is generally used in people who have tried 2 or more MS medicines that have not worked well enough. It ...

Re: Best med at onset

P.S. I might also add that, in my opinion, the very best thing a person can do for MS (or any other medical condition...) is try to optimize one's overall health with a healthy diet (I don't believe in any specific MS diets...), plenty of exercise, & plenty of sleep. And I've found that my absur...

Re: Best med at onset

Just a general question, what is the best med at the onset of MS with little or no side effects? I'm sorry to say that there is no universally recognized "best" med to treat MS, either at the onset or later, and there is no "cure." All of the official MS treatments are bas...

Also, heads up to thisiswater... This thread you bumped is from 2006, 10 years ago , way before several of the new oral meds had arrived on the scene. The original posters are mainly talking about the earlier, injectible DMDs, the interferons (Avonex, Rebif, Betaseron) and Copaxone (glatiram...

Hi Justkate and welcome! FYI - I edited your post to break up the giant block of type because I, and many of us here, have difficulty reading large blocks of type -- short paragraphs are better. :) Now I'll have to read through it again to see if I have anything to add, but my first request is that ...

Re: Acronym's Are Not My Friend

Hi all, I am new here and have been reading up on many of the informative posts! One of my biggest problems has been trying to decipher many of the abbreviated acronyms that are used A LOT! I have no trouble looking up unfamiliar words and expanding my vocabulary and medical terminology knowledge, ...

Re: The FDA grants Priority Review status to Anegren

FYI - this is a thread from June 2004, bumped up today, almost 12 years later. And yes, the experimental drug Antegren that we had been following through trials, became Tysabri when it went to market.

Not sure why it was necessary to bump it today, though, 1eye. :-D Your point is?
