Hi Stathis, I think age is irrelevant when deciding to try Novantrone. Some patients are young, others older. I'm 40 and I have exhausted all other meds, so this is the one that's left to try. I had no side fx like yours with Ty, "only" worsening of the weakness in my legs and upper body. ...

Hi Belge, Yes, I stopped Ty and I'm not sure if that was the best thing?! Had my last infusion in early April... but now I can't stand up straight anymore. Even swim classes (for MS'ers) are very difficult, since my body only wants to bend forward. Getting dressed is really getting tricky! I wouldn'...

Muu and everybody else,
Thanks for your suggestions! Appreciate them. I can still stand when supported, just not walk. So, since sitting is a neccessity... we'll see how I do. Hope to prevent worsening. Looking at pillows too.

Well, what can be done to reduce the pressure from sitting on your bum all day... when "moving around" is not an option??

Went to see neuro. He explained that he thought Tysabri hasn't worked for me because my MS isn't really inflammation, but rather scarring. What?? Then he went on to say that Rituxan hasn't been approved for PP, but only Novantrone has. So now he wants to try that. I don't know if the risks are worth...

I have taken Tysabri 7 times now with no improvement. Going to see neuro today to discuss other options... if there are any. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to accept my future  .

Well Harry... here we go. Another question:

I'm considering buying a Theracycle for exercise. Any input on that? Very expensive, but people tell me it's worth it! Is there a place for this question in these forums?

Harry,
Doesn't it just "alter" the immune response and not actually suppress it? It seems to be more of an immunomodulator... Just want to be sure that a combo treatment with LDN isn't detrimental to me.

hmmm... made some calls and both my neuro and infusion nurse state that Tysabri is not classified as an immunosuppressant. What gives?

I thought Tysabri is a monoclonal antibody that decreases inflammatory cells in the brain? It is not an immunosuppressant, but I could be wrong...

Rene, I am glad you are so optimistic about Melissa's situation. That is most of the battle! Hope all is well? I did try Tysabri, but felt that I was getting worse. I gave the drug 5 infusions to do some magic or stabilize me somehow... nothing. I stopped Tysabri and my neuro suggested IV-Ig. That i...

Discontinuing Tysabri due to worsening

It's great that everybody is having such good results with Ty, but I have just decided to STOP after 5 infusions, because of continued worsening of symptoms. No improvements at all... not even a tiny bit! Now, I should consider myself "lucky", since I only have leg weakness and inability t...
