Sorry for the multiple posts, but I want to add a link to a PhD dissertation on the effects of exercise on post-angioplasty restenosis. The dissertation focuses on coronary artery angioplasty, but it provides a good background on balloon angioplasty, drug eluting stents, and restenosis, and this bac...

For additional information on balloon angioplasty and stents, you can read through Dr. Dake's patents:
http://www.patentstorm.us/inventors-pat ... 475/1.html
It seems as if the stents might also serve as drug-delivery systems to prevent restenosis.

Re: what are the likely interventions?
I've been wondering about what the possibilities are for interventions if the MRV does show problems..... There's the host of suggestions from Cheerleader's endothelial paper, and there is the surgery and stents like Marie and Jeff, but what lies in between? Non-stent interventions? Randi, My under...

Did you have a stent put into your veins or was the blockage in your veins cleaned out with angioplasty (and without the use of a stent)?

Joan - Thanks for being such a trailblazer and congratulations on hopefully healing Jeff! JimmyLegs - This might have already been posted, but it appears that there might be a link between venous insufficiency and low zinc levels. Here's an intruiging excerpt from the following paper: http://www.spr...

Well, basicly the abstract says it all. According to the researchers metabolic dysfunction in oligodendrocytes might be able to cause both axonal degeneration and focal inflammation. If that was the case, oligodendrocyte apoptosis and axonal degeneration would be the primary processes in MS, and in...

Here's an article that cites Lassmann's classification of 4 types of lesions and also cites other researchers that dispute the validity of the classification.

Re: Fatty acid balance anyone ?
A PhD by the name of Patricia Kane is responsible for this protocol and she has had some very good success with MS as well as other neurological diseases. Has anyone on this site heard of this ? Skydog, I briefly looked into a protocol by Patricia Kane and then I stopped when I read that she may ha...

Recently, it has been shown that they are also able to prevent endothelial cell activation by hypoxia and a precise biochemical target common to all of them has been identified: the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Conclusion: The influence of venotropic drugs on the mitochondrial respiratory chain...

I'm a big fan of Dr. Terry Wahls. For those of you who haven't gone to her website (www.terrywahls.com), I highly recommend checking it out. She has SPMS, was generally wheelchair/scooter-bound after doing CRABs, Cellcept, etc., and then came upon a new program to heal herself that seems to be worki...
