Re: CCSVI alive and well in Poland. Fascinating article.
It is a fake webpage, probably aimed at stealing money from naive patients. Nobody has heard about this "clinic". Also, after release of Brevedreams study, procedures for CCSVI are no longer performed in Poland

Re: Stents in Poland
Actually, I got no querries regarding stents during last 2 years or so. Maybe the questions were directed to a wrong address? Anyway, there are some limitations regarding stents only afterduring first few months after implantation, thus MRI can be safely performed irrespective of the type of -if the...

Re: Need Help
Pelvic congestion syndrome is caused by incompetent ovarian veins. There is a similar venous insufficiency in males that is due to incompetent testicular veins (still, it is rarely accompanied by abdominal pain and other complaints typical for pelvic congestion syndrome, but rather it is causing var...

Re: Italian MS Society seeks to discredit CCSVI theory
The study got "standing ovation" in Lyon. :!: It is very interesting - however - what went wrong with this study. :?: One thing is the censure of "positive" results, but it is only part of the story. Of note, in very "negative" reports by Centonze and Baracchini 30-40% ...

Re: Little support found for vascular MS theory at ECTRIMS
No such a need. One study is already accepted for publication in a good neurological journal, and the remaining 2 papers are under review. But you can imagine how profoundy biased is the ECTRIMS and its scientific committee

Re: Little support found for vascular MS theory at ECTRIMS
We submitted 3 studies for the ECTRIMS. None of them were allowed to be presented. I wonder how many such papers from other centers were also rejected.

Re: Can bilateral symmetry shed some light?
I was thinking that science could use some of the techniques used in stereo audio work. We could make use of common characteristics of the vascular and nervous systems: bilateral symmetry, asymmetry, and left/right crossovers. Good idea. But there is a problem: main cerebral veins do not come in pa...

I am not aware of any published reports on patency between nitonal or stainless steel stents in the venous system. Reference? not many articles published but we've experienced clear difference between steel and nitinol stents. Thus far, no of steel stent occluded (at least, we have no information a...

New case. 53 yo female with relapsing remitting MS. Venography showed severe bilateral IJ stenosis and azygous stenosis. Azygous responded to venoplasty. Both IJ's initially dilated to 14mm. Tight waists in the balloon resolved at 15-18 ATM. Repeat venography showed severe recoil. Multiple repeat d...

Sal, I think the left IJ maybe occluded at the skull base. .......................... As for stents versus angioplasty, I wasn't advocating either. I was merely pointing out the permanency of certain curvature problems that will most likely cause restenois to occur sooner rather than later due to c...

do you have any data on the incidence of ms in patients with scoliosis and other spinal malalignments? I have done a cursory retrospective analysis of 25 MS patients who contacted me through this website. Approximately 1/3 of them have significant curvature problems. Another third have history of s...

Interestingly, a patient just contacted me regarding assymetry of the superior sagittal sinus connections to the transverse sinuses. The right side is more direct and larger. It also has 5x the flow. Repeat procedures performed in Poland to open the LIJV have failed to significantly improve flow in...

can we stay on this case please Regarding this case, we were discussing a possible lack of filling of the left sigmoid sinus and occlusion at the skull base. One possible cause is malformation of the sigmoid sinuses and jugular foramen. Malformations of the base of the skull are common in humans. A...

I wonder if the vein actually has its anatomical name, I don't think it is the facial vein, it might be one of deep cervical veins, but also it might be an originally very small vessel transformed within ...
