Plavix and aspirin like drugs are anti platelet drugs. As such they prevent platelet mediated clots forming in the arterial system. Hence prophylaxis for heart attacks, strokes and stents within the coronary arteries. Warfarin or heparin is used to prevent clots in the venous system, such as deep ve...

Hi Guys, I am away to Tychy shortly but am disheartened by, what I perceive as being indifferent results. It appears that some people have good results then, either get on with their lives and stop posting, or revert. I hope I'm wrong but wonder if its worth the emotional investment. The sticky cons...

For the conspiracy theorists.

FYI. I've always been reluctant to accept colleagues could be influenced by drug companies but this is a beautiful argument. (a fascinating 2009 lecture on the pharmaceutical industry, given to the RANZ College of Psychiatrists): March 2010 Whose bread I eat, his song I sing by Julian Burnside QC Ju...

Hope

Have thought long and hard about this because I don't want to foster hope when there may not be. But hope is what keeps us going. Please take this for what it is- a statement. I can add nothing to it: a friend met a mutual friend over coffee, (an interventional radiologist (IR) in the UK). Friend to...

Update. Went on holiday to the sun which meant I had to stop doxycycline and was unable to obtain rifampacin. Developed urinary infection which naturally knocked me back. That was 3 weeks ago- walking deteriorating and started pulse last night, Interestingly migraines have kicked in again whilst off...

Update. Last post I was very low- all getting worse etc and little to write about- other than fewer migraine. Recently there have been small changes which I have been reluctant to post because improvement can often be a precursor to significant and permanent decline. Seeming improvement to my core- ...

Have been reading Lori antibiotic log and the "great fogettery" was mentioned. Lori also mentioned headaches. I realised I haven't had a migraine for sometime- long time, and it was relatively mild. Its the only thing I've noticed (consciously) thats improved but I can hold onto that! I al...

OK update. Just finished- I think 5th pulse. No side effects/reactions, is this a bad sign? Could it be I have no CPn on board causing my symptoms. Still in freefall which was exacerbated by UTI 3 weeks ago. So still wallwalking- but only just. Stuck in the shower last week which was a major event a...

Just an update. Just started my 3rd pulse. A little stiff but no great difference. One has to remember that metronidazole can make anyone- CPN or not- unwell. Notice my hands and feet get warm which is nice. Don't want to be negative (God knows I want this to work) but the purpose of this log is to ...

Had a terrific 2 days, standing upright, showered, shaved etc in almost "normal" time. (walking not great but happy to strengthen my core initially). Aching today and back to square 1 which is ok...... ish :) Question for the "elders". Had no problems with this pulse- on my 5th d...

Hey, take awhile to recover from my recent hospital experience. Walking is poor despite foot up splints. These unfortunately exacerbate my restless legs and may need reviewing. Finally found the energy to start another pulse yesterday- immediately warmed up my feet last night and sweating. Interesti...
