Can temporary paralysis from heat ever be fatal?

Hello -- I have a question. My boyfriend has MS and in the summer, if he gets overheated, he will collapse from the heat. His muscles stop working and he falls to the ground, paralyzed until someone drags him to shelter. The air conditioner is broken in his car and he doesn't have the cash to fix it...

Hip Replacement Surgery

Hello all. My bf has MS and was on prednisone for years. It ate away his joints and now at age 38 he needs hip replacement surgery. We are worried about how someone with MS recovers from this major surgery. Has anyone here had hip replacement surgery? He cannot walk a step hardly anymore and his neu...

hey there v, couple more thoughts about it, besides g's how much: if the bf's body can't process oral b12 intake properly, it can drive up his homocysteine level which could be causing the tiredness. Bingo - Jimmylegs - I think you've nailed it. This is the clue I was waiting for. Because he stoppe...

Hi folks. No, we do not see an alternative practitioner right now - trying to do it ourselves due to lack of funds. Okay - so today he took absolutely no B12 and his energy returned and he is not drowsy anymore. This is so frustrating!!!! Every time we think we find something that works, a few days ...

Hi folks - new symptoms to report. My bf has been taking 2 sublingual Vitamin B12 pills per day (800 mcg each). At first they were giving him lots of energy and he was happy. Now it has changed and he is so drowsy he can hardly function. He normally sleeps for 4 or 5 hours per night. Now he's been s...

well v that sounds pretty crappy. b12 deficiency and ms are 'supposed' to be two distinct conditions. as in, you don't diagnose ms if there's b12 deficiency in the picture. ms certainly should not CAUSE b12 deficiency. the two definitely have similar characteristics though, right down to the patter...

Hi - thanks for your responses. Jimmylegs - No - there was never any explanation given as to why he was B12 deficient. He is not a vegetarian and eats meat so I thought it was the MS that was making him deficient (I've read that a lot of folks with MS are deficient in B12.) There are no more tests p...

Why does my BF have bad reactions to Natural sups?

Hello - I'm new here. My dear bf has MS - relapsing/remitting, but he seems to now be in a very bad episode and might have switched to progressive. Over the last year, we have been trying all kinds of natural supplements to help him. The really strange thing is that they all seem to make his symptom...
