Blood pressure drug reverses MS symptoms in mice.
http://www.newsdaily.com/stories/tre57g4ke-us-ms-drug/ Would love to hear what my knowledgeable friends on this board think about this announcement. Drug that keeps blood vessels from contracting. Not as a new treatment per say--but seems this might fit into the CCSVI model. CHICAGO, Aug. 17, 2009 (...

Well--this is a non-issue now for me. My doctor took me off after I had a weird reaction last week (bone-shaking chills and what I'm now calling the insta-flu--came on about 30-40 minutes after shot and lasted for 20 minutes). So Avonex is next stop. But I'm in no hurry to go there....I am disappoin...

My doctor actually took me off it with a suggestion to try Avonex. Felt it was an allergic reaction. Not sure what I'm going to do now. I stuck with it for 10 weeks and I'm a bit sorry I never got to the point where, SS claims, you stop getting the big welts....and I don't look forward to the Avonex...

What I thought was interesting was the bit about repeated compression by the adjacent artery possibly causing the stenosis. Contributes to the whole stenosis comes first model, perhaps? I wonder if in some of us the jugulars aren't repeatedly compressed if not by the artery but by other repetitive f...

Article about CVSI that may hold clues to CCSVI?
Okay--I'm new here and honestly, my eyes cross at some of the science underlying the theories (but believe me--I get the theory--that part seems amazingly simple!!). But I stumbled across this article and thought I'd throw it out there for those wiser than me to comment on. I apologize if this is ol...

Wow K what a tale! If one is suspicious about the CCSVI model then this is interesting, you kind of wonder if you have a stenosed area that plugged for a bit after the anticoags were gone and that triggered the lesions maybe. are you getting checked for this new model? Hey there--sorry I didn't res...

Copaxone Chills?
I'm about 10 weeks in on Copaxone and have had really unpleasant site reactions which I am dealing with the best I can. But tonight (weirdly after I posted yesterday asking how others were doing!) I had what I think was a delayed reaction to my shot. (This one did hurt a bit going in which was unusu...

Just checking in. It's been a few more weeks and the site reactions haven't really improved. In fact, one neuro I saw was kinda shocked that they were so bad. She's actually suggested I try Avonex but I'm going to hang in there until the 3 month mark and see if I get any improvement. So those other ...

I was on Coumadin for 9 months following a stroke (carotid dissection) and I can tell you it was a pain in the tuckus--not to mention the arm. Everything I ate or did seemed to affect my levels and I finally had to resign myself to checking it once a week at the doctor's office. Really--there is no ...

Hey marc--I Pm'd you but wanted to ask real quick--did you really get the impression that they are gearing up to do CCSVI studies there? Because she told me they didn't have the Doppler specialist needed and said that almost anybody else does--every research university in the country is what she sai...
