I'm also interested to know if caffeine affects people who have MS in a 'heightened' way. I seem to have become so sensitive to caffeine the last few months especially. Don't know if it's related or not, but find that even morning coffee tends to bother my sleeping at night. I find that odd.

A strange cloudiness in my left eye. Very odd. I could see it but I couldn't see it at the same time. Then six months later numbness/pins and needles in my feet. The eyesight has pretty much resolved itself now. The numbness has crept up my legs. I was 28 when I had my first symptoms.. What are you...

They ran everything, blood tests, MRI, spinal tap, EEG.... they said it all looked normal. But again, this was 3 years ago and my symptoms were mild compared to how they are now. All I had back then was occasional tingling in my legs and an eye twitch. Now I wish that was all I had!! I would go bac...

Re: Benign MS?

We decided to wait on more tests (he wanted to continue MRI's). Due to being in my mid 50's, he said it woudl be very unusual for me to now just be getting MS, but it's possible. He said it is 'possible' that I may have 'Benign MS'. I didn't know such a thing existed. Anyone have benign MS? When di...

Re: Benign MS?

What problems were you having with your leg? Numbness and burning sensations in my foot. I also had difficulty sleeping on my back as that would make my symptoms worse. Nine years later, I still have this problem. I saw a chiropractor at the time and had x-rays done of my spine. After a month of ch...

Re: Benign MS?

What do the eye cloudiness have to do with MS? Do you have those lesions on your brain? Is that the correlation? With MS, it's usually inflammation of the optic nerve and the condition is called opticneuritis. The optic nerve is part of the central nervous system. When I was diagnosed, my opticneur...

Re: Benign MS?

I suppose that their wouldn't be many people with benign MS that use this forum, if any. Well, since I am new to this whole thing it would certainly be nice to be able to figure out what is happening. It appears that symptoms are sooooooooooooooo wide-spread and different with different people, I c...

Benign MS?

I saw my neurologist on Friday...as mentioned, I am still in testing and diagnosis stages (due to body twitching). He had done one MRI of my brain and saw lesions. It is unexplained so he did order another MRI of my lumbar...this showed nothing. We decided to wait on more tests (he wanted to continu...

Hi. I am in the testing phases now. I had 1 MRI of my brain and they found some lesions. The neurologist order the next MRI of my LUMBAR and they didn't find any. So next he wanted to do the lumbar area. However I decided to hold off for now before testing further. If I have more symptoms I might go...

Peaches, I agree with scoobyjude. In addition, I know that lesions seen on MRI are used to diagnose MS, but I am not sure that I believe there is any correlation between lesions and MS symptoms. Many people with MS symptoms have no lesions (especially early on in the disease course). If you can go ...

Thanks so much for your input. I did go back on Friday and we talked again. We pretty much decided to just drop any more testing for now UNLESS new symptoms popup. Then in 1 year go back and geta repeat on my brain to see if any new lesions have appeared...then we woudl have a pretty good idea that ...
