2 easy Qs: What MRIs are usually ordered?

1. In diagnosing, is it common to have an MRI only looking at one section (the spine, for instance) and maybe follow-up with other scans or is an MRI usually ordered over the entire brain and spine at once? 2. At what point are the scans generally useful? Do they only show lesions at a certain point...

I've now read that women with PCOS are more likely to have MS. Interesting.

I don't know anything about how it relates to the other tests and to MS, but I can answer Alicia's question about the conflicting info. Most GPs use an older range over 5 or 5.5 for diagnosing hypothyroidism. Most endocrinologists use a range only up to 2.5 or 3 for normal, which is the newer number...
