I Had the procedure done...could be a crock or...
It's been a while since I've posted on here. I had the "liberation" procedure done in April to my collapsed right jugular vein. I went back again in May to get probed again because I got immediately worse. They pulled the plug before starting while I was on the table. I had PVCs happening ...

good advice
eric-- Good advice. Now that I have more understanding of what the deal is I understand why my doc is so apprehensive. Are there any companies trying to make the stents that we need? I'm just wondering if continuing getting just angio is a waste of time. It already only lasted one week the first tim...

good questions
I am so disabled that traveling/if only going to the local cardiologist requires an act of God and a non-emergency medical transport company. Basically going anywhere else other than where the transport company will go is out of the question. At this point, yes I would be a first-timer for this very...

How to covince my doc to do a stent
I think my doctor might be dealing with red tape. I had angioplasty in the right jugular vein. Initially the scans showed a very narrow right vein with two collaterals. All three were barely releasing a trickle. After the first angio, I had incredibly positive results. Wow! It was amazing but stoppe...

Shower chair problem solved
This is the chair I finally got. My PTist --useless, local medical supply places--useless.

It works fine because we have a ramp now. Yeah, it was really expensive but tax deductible.

What do I need to know about getting angioplasty?
I don't have the mental capacity, ability, or eyesight to go chasing all over this forum to get these answers, so I'm posting a new topic in hopes of getting your help. I need to know the good, the bad, and the ugly of angioplasty. If anyone knows first hand about getting angioplasty, I'd like to kn...

OMG I can't believe I survived yesterday!
Hey all! Hoodyup's wife here. I have one word to summarize yesterday. Fu%$#$%$UUUUUUuuuuuuuuc$!!! That was rough. Even in an old electric wheelchair it was extremely difficult. I was away from my comfy bed and house for 11 hours. Just to clarify--I puked twice in the van on the way to the docs. My f...

Incline bed therapy
Dovechick: No. I have not tried IBT. I am not a candidate for that. I can't have my feet on the floor or lie flat for more than 30 seconds or I get excruciating pain in the legs and feet, cry hysterically, get strange other symptoms like extreme weakness, orange vision, and the list goes on. I have ...

Help on Deciding re CCSVi "liberation" procedure
I need to get all my ducks in a row and all the eggs in a basket (so to speak) before I do the surgery. The possibility of complications from shoulder nerves getting pinched and bleeding from a blood thinner scares the hell out of me. Why? Because I rely on both arms and shoulders to do anything bec...

Talked to Alex yesterday
Not that I can remember much of the conversation a day later, but all I got out of it was "your in the top drawer and on the top of the list". Whatever that meant. When politicians get their fingers in anything, we the sufferers do more of just that--suffer. I got to tell ya that I'm leavi...

worse
It has gotten worse in a month. I was told by one surgeon that "it's MS caused, most likely, and you need to wear compression hose and walk". I can't do either anymore. It has spread from being a from the knee down thing to going above the knees and now the purple part is in the fingers. I...

There has to be a reason for this. Since there is more than one person with this problem, I hope these doctors attempt to figure it out and not just slap a name on it. What happened? What's going on right now? Yes, we know we have MS but not all MSers have this problem, so what's going on Doc? I'm g...

hmm
Thanks Guest & DoveChick For the posts. Guest, keep me posted on your next visit. The only clothes I wear are loose socks and a t-shirt, so with me it's not a constriction thing. My situation has gotten worse. My fingers and now above the knees turn purple. It's a splotchy purple and not a 100% ...

Heat. Ick!
I am extremely heat sensitive. My house has to be 69 degrees F or less at all times. I can't go outside in a wheelchair unless the temp. is the same. I do much better in the winter. We don't heat our house in the winter. It can be 32 dregrees F outside at night and I'll have the window right next to...

legs 'n' feet
Ya know, Andrew, I'd try it, but now my toes swell if they are down a little. I'd try it if I was better off. At this point I need to do what feels best and not experiment. Six months ago I would have, but now it is a quality of life thing.
