I just returned last night from a 5-day dive trip in Key West. I was treated by Dr. Sclafani in June, and specifically asked him about diving, knowing this trip would be after my treatment. He could think of no contraindications, and I had some great dives. I still feel great (thanks, Dr. Sclafani!).

I also very curious about the idea of him being treated by Dr. Dake. I thought Dr. Dake was not allowed to treat CCSVI, outside of any trial, at this point. Has his trial begun? I haven't heard one word about it, and it's interesting that Montel would move to the "head of the line," as far...

Thank you, Jen, I swear I have new accounts all over the Internet by now trying to get this to work. I look at stuff on YouTube all the time, but I've never posted anything until now. :) These are definitely my veins:

Hope this works!

I finally figured out how to export my MRVs from Buffalo as movies. Perhaps someone would be willing to look and comment. Here is the one without contrast:

And the one with contrast:

Any thoughts?

I participated in this study shortly before Thanksgiving. I had both MRI & MRV, and I have the CD. I am waiting to have it looked at the medical university where I work (just too much going on with the holidays). My mother participated as a control (I have MS, she doesn't). We both had the Doppl...

Algis, Dr. Zamboni's most recently published article, the one in the December Journal of Vascular Surgery, has Zamboni's protocol for "Echo color Doppler for investigation of cerebral venous return." I would assume that any medical professionals you will be seeing would have access to this...

Thank you to everyone who replied. I'm from Buffalo, I like to play armchair quarterback. At this point, I'm more freaked out by the absent transverse sinus, way up at the tippy-top of the images above, above the wishbone doohickey on the right side. I have one one the left (though a little na...

You can view the images in 3D, but I'm not really sure how to post that, or if anyone would be interested in looking at it. I was just kind of curious for some unofficial opinions.

Mick, thanks for the info. When I was there earlier in the week, I asked about the first unblinding, and the research coordinator I spoke with said that it would occur sometime after they had enrolled 500 participants (I was #434). She thought that would happen by the end of the year, but I thought ...

Buffalo CTEVD Study MRV images

I participated in the CTEVD study on Monday and Tuesday of this week, while I was home in Buffalo visiting family for Thanksgiving. I'm glad I set this up back in September, because they were swamped with phone calls on Monday after the CTV W5 program! It was a great experience, I had the dopplers, ...

According to Christina at the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center (part of Jacobs), who is my contact person for the study, participants receive MRI and doppler reports in the mail, approximately 8 weeks after participation. They do not send MRV reports, so I was wrong about that. But since they ar...

I did ask if I would receive the results, and I know I was told I would receive the reports of the MRI/MRV in the mail. Apparently, radiology is a little overwhelmed and it takes some time to read the scans. I know we will not be given the actual scans, but I was told we would be given reports. I di...

I will be participating in the CTEVD study while I'm home in Buffalo for Thanksgiving (currently live in Charleston, SC). This study covers an MRI AND MRV, as well as the dopplers. It even includes what the person I spoke with calls a "mini-neuro exam." My mother is participating with me a...
