Re: Need Name of Doctor for PML Management and Treatment ASA

Harry, To answer your questions: yes he was advised of increased risk from being diagnosed as JC virus positive. I think he was about a 3-3.5 on the EDSS scale when he began Tysabri. Also, see my above reply to NHE where there is a reference to an upcoming PML conference in New York which should pr...

NHE

Thanks for the info. As I understand it, he is being treated with steroids due to the IRIS concern.

Re: Need Name of Doctor for PML Management and Treatment ASA

Has anyone had current or recent experience with PML? Whom, in addition to Biogen, should be contacted for consultation for PML management and treatment? Who are the expert doctors in this field? My nephew is currently hospitalized and getting his second session of plasma exchange for PML treatment...

Re: Need Name of Doctor for PML Management and Treatment ASA

Harry, Thanks for your input. His neurologist is working with other neurologists in her practice, and she is board certified with decades of experience treating MS patients. So I think we have already contacted "a good MS clinic" as you suggested. Yes, he tested positive for the JC virus. ...

Concerning the value of MR scans in CCSVI, Dr Haacke has new information on his CCSVI protocol here http://www.ms-mri.com/docs/ms-report-interpretation-sep-10-10-emh-9pm.pdf This information is quite detailed and describes the report that is generated as a result of the Haacke CCSVI protocol. Does anyone have Buffalo’s breakdown of CCSVI in other neurological disease (OND) controls? I’d like to know if all of the Parkinson’s controls had CCSVI. All I know of is Buffalo’s February 2010 press release where it does not mention the results of the OND group. http://www.adirondackgraphics.com/...

On reviewing the two Zamboni studies that included Pakinson’s patients I realized that Zamboni used Doppler, not MRI, to detect CCSVI. In Zamboni’s “Chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency in patients with multiple sclerosis” he also used venography, but since no “other neurological disease” pati...

Hubbard found CCSVI in their first Parkinson's Patient

I don’t know how significant this is, but Devin Hubbard of the Hubbard Foundation here in San Diego just posted on Facebook, CCSVI In Multiple Sclerosis: “just found our first parkinson's patient positive for CCSVI.” As you probably know, Zamboni found no CCSVI in the Parkinson’s controls in two of ...

Algis, Here is the protocol that Dr Recarte sent me. It was translated from Spanish by a friend of mine.. “You must do a vascular doppler of both vertebral arteries looking for the difference in flow between the positions with arms along the body and with arms above the head. Ideally the patient wou...

This is an update on my looking into the role that the vascular system plays in idiopathic Parkinson’s disease. I have found a Doppler technician in Tucson who does CCSVI work (he even went to Dr Sclafani’s NY symposium) and who is willing to do a CCSVI scan on my wife who has PD. In the next month ...

Need Spanish speaker's opinion on Noda articles

I want to take the CTOS(CTNVS)/CCSVI idea to a local bilingual vascular surgeon or interventional radiologist to see if he/she will pursue it further by doing an examination of my wife who has Parkinson‘s disease and/or doing a study to look for vascular irregularities in PD patients. Before I do th...

Parkinson's and MS

First, thanks to the people on this website for all the CCSVI info. The information on thisisms.com made it possible for a relative who has MS to be treated and get immediate improvement to his energy level and quality of life. I am interested in the connections between CCSVI and Parkinson’s disease...
