Sure glad I didn't wait!
Just over three years ago I heard about CCSVI and its treatment. After a couple weeks of fevered research, I decided that Zamboni's theory made a lot of sense, and that given the rapid deterioration in my MS symptoms, I should take the earliest possible opportunity to be tested and, if appropriate, ...

New study challenges controversial MS treatment
Interesting... a meta-study soon to come out soon will say that there are no studies that have been appropriately undertaken that can attest to the efficacy or otherwise of CCSVI treatment for MS symptoms.... yet this neurologist KNOWS that this one study (which may or may not have been appropriatel...

Re: more of the same
Yes, jugular, that is something that shouldn't be forgotten: drugs (which all seem to have dangerous side effects) are "effective" if they slightly seem to slow down disease progression or help some symptoms even just a little... but Liberation isn't effective unless there is a marked and ...

Re: more of the same
So, though they don't say it was among the things measured, they do mention reduced fatigue and improved balance (two of the three things that markedly improved for me) as initial benefits that went away in three months. In my case those benefits (plus improved autonomic functions) remain much impro...

Re: more of the same
By the way, 1eye, maybe you should restart this thread with a different title... it could lead to a good discussion of what SHOULD be in the observational studies, so it would be unfortunate if it was missed because of an ambiguous title.

Re: more of the same
Do we have an idea of how the study was conducted? If it was done improperly, then the authour (and minister) should be taken to task. Of it simply measured the "wrong" things, those that the procedure is not known to help (for example, lesions or even mobility instead of the more successf...

Re: FDA Shutting Down CCSVI Research
I've been away from TIM'S for most of this last year.. But this headline made me think I'd gone back two years in time since the same BS game was being played then, with the same falsehoods and arguments... Time for them to get a new scriptwriter. You'd think that with the billions backing the effor...

Re: Nature of Things
My wife saw it and said it was quite good. I'm out of country (business) so will have to catch a repeat, if I can. It's not up on iTunes yet.

Am I restenosing?
Over the last few weeks I've had a few days where I felt tired during the day and had a nap/laydown, even twice one of those days. Now, I know that's a long way off from what it was like before liberation when I had a deep, devastating fatigue that required me to take at least a couple of naps every...

Causes
I didn't see where the results of their study justified saying that CCSVI is bogus or that it doesn't warrant further study with respect to MS symptoms. Interestingly, they say that their research shows that MS is "clearly" an immunological disease that is somehow triggered by some unknown...

No facts
In "fact", scorpion, with respect to your response to MrSuccess, there are almost no facts actually available to rely on with respect to any part of this debate. Lots of conjecture, some research results, some contradictory evidence and very few real "facts" that can't be contest...

Puzzle
More pieces to the puzzle, it seems, but it hardly rules out a vascular component to MS initiation or MS symptoms, just doesn't provide support for it. Since they weren't looking for genetic markers for vascular diseases, they didn't find any - SURPRISE! And for some of the researchers to say that &...

Cochrane review
Folks, I have been asked to help in a Cochrane review of CCSVI research to date. Cochrane reviews are well respected and provide an opportunity to steer the medical community toward adopting new techniques quicker, if warranted, and to identify gaps in current research. I would like our CCSVI commun...
