Re: Dr. Dake at CIRSE
In addition to the pro/con debate Cheer posted about at the beginning of the thread (with Dake, Doepp, and a couple others), there are also three CCSVI poster presentations at the conference: P-237 - Evaluation of hemodynamic changes using dynamic susceptibility contrast-enhanced (DSC) MRI in patien...

Dr. Sclafani, I asked a question a little while back that I think got lost in an avalanche of subsequent questions. I hope you don't mind if I ask the question again. My recollection is that studies have shown that approximately 10-15% of the population has no valves in either one or both internal j...

Dr. Sclafani, If I remember correctly, approximately 10% of the population doesn't have valves in their internal jugular veins. Since problematic valves seem to be a primary cause of CCSVI, I was wondering if you've had any CCSVI patients without IJV valves, and if so, if they number less than 10% o...

Wow, what a terrible hatchet job by the reporter. She references the U.S. study (at BNAC) that found over half of MSers have CCSVI, but neglects to state two additional important pieces of information from the same BNAC study: about a quarter of non-MSers were found to have CCSVI , and yet the assoc...

Re: "whining about neurologists"
Does anyone know if Cece's neuro is right about Zivadinov no longer supporting CCSVI? And if that in fact is the case, has Zivadinov explained why not?Cece wrote:Some high points from his ranting....

Dr. S, I hope you're having a wonderful time in the Adirondacks! When you get back and have a chance to answer, here are my questions for you (and thank you again for taking so much time to educate and reassure us): 1. Professor Zamboni found almost no restenosis in the azygous veins of the CCSVI pa...

Teva is being sued as well by the company that originally developed the molecule alleging that Copaxone is effective ONLY if taken once a week, or even once a month, that TEVA is pushing once a day only to boost their profits - if anyone's interested I can post the original link - tho I got slammed...

If your kitchen sink was backed up, but not affecting any other item in your kitchen, then only a plumber would be called. If that backed up sink overflowed and shorted out the electrical outlets in your kitchen, you'd need to call an electrician. Hey, good (counter)analogy. It is a good analogy, b...

I'm am afraid that these studies are going to be farces like the German study. First, nearly all of these studies are led solely by neurologists. Instead, they should at the very least have radiologists or vascular surgeons either leading or being co-leaders of the study. Second, the quotes from man...

I think I may have found the answer to my own question, thanks to an older post by MRhodes40. It seems that the TGA research (unlike Zamboni) may use valsalva maneuvers to increase the likelihood of finding valve incompetence: That one used valsalva to assess for reflux, not the test Z uses so the 4...
