I went on Avonex and went about six months without a relapse. When I went on Avonex twice a week I went 22 months without a relapse. So it works for me at the higher dosage, and my m.r.is show improvement. It has been worth it for me, but everyone is different. :)

I am pretty private about the disease. Doctors and family know, but I have only clued in a few close friends. It's hard to keep private, but for professional reasons, I feel I must. The last thing I want is to be known as "oh, she's that poor girl with ms." So many people think it's a deat...

ms is this huge mystery for me. I can go back six generations on one side and 4 on the other, and there's never been any ms until I came along. I am hopeful that someday (preferrably in my lifetime) people will be able to find out what causes it, and why. And since there seem to be so many kinds of ...

Full Dosage (however much is in the prefilled syringes), twice a week. For me that means Wednesday and Sunday. It's really helped me, but I was wondering if anyone else was on the same regimen. I didn't think I was the only one, but maybe I am.

Twice a week Avonex?

Hey,

My doc put me on Avonex shots twice a week, and since then I go for 12+ months without any relapses. Right now I'm on 14 months without a relapse.

I was wondering if anyone else was on this kind of program and what their experience has been.

I have trouble telling people too, for many reasons. I have not told anyone that I have dated, because I am able to hide my symptoms. I wish I knew how to tell people. Telling people about it always brings me to tears because it's hard to talk about and I am always afraid the people will reject me o...

The wall street journal wrote an article last week about antegren- it was pretty enthusiastic about the drug and ms. I hope it's as good as many people are thinking it will be. :)

I took the steroid orally and it was so bitter, it was difficult to swallow even with welch's grape juice (that darn gag reflex). Also, my doc warned me it could be hard on my stomach. I was happy when I got to taper to prednisone. Since then, I've opted for the iv way.

I know that when I was first diagnosed, I spent about six months in a haze, just going through the motions. I felt like no one could say the "right" thing to me. For now, I'd just try to offer him as much sympathy (but not pity) as you can, and also see if he will go to a counselor. Someti...

How curious- my dermatologist just put me on minocycline, so hopefully my adult acne will clear up, and it will also help out with the ms. Hurrah!
