Vote Liberal

Bias declared - I am a lifelong supporter of the Liberal party. The current government simply does not care about this issue; they have had a chance to do something - and some of their own party members have come out in favour of doing something - but they haven't. Their choice of minister shows a d...

PREMISE - Study

Anyone know of the results from the first 30 patients treated at Buffalo. I read somewhere it was in the peer review stage.

The 6 month benefits seem significant, but not dramatic. Does anyone know if the 1 year results are better?

So how was your neuro appointment? Can't wait to read the story.

My wife had her treatment today, and is doing well. Sore azygous, sore neck. All three ballooned, no stents, no miracles, mild symptoms anyway. See how it goes in a few weeks.

I saw Dr. Petrov speak at SUNY - he reported the best success rates as compared with Kuwait and Albany - but Poland and Germany were not represented. Of those at SUNY: Kuwait was the most aggressive with ballooning - but really took their time with it as they were not allowed to use stents at all (t...

.... so what exactly are you guys interested in us studying as it relates to the treatment of ccsvi IMHO, and in order of precedence: 1. Standard protocols for the venography: (i) order of veins; (ii) catching the flaps; (iii) indications for treatment. 2. Protocols for stents versus not; 3. Protoc...

Is this The Current, from last night? I heard it on the radio in my car. Jock Murray's comments were ironic. I thought the piece was good, but it ended on a sour note; and certainly the presenter lacked the courage to do anything new. To put CCSVI in the bee sting camp or hyperbaric oxygen camp - ig...

..... If so, this statement by this cardio doctor needs to be read against a very different background and context than challenging ccsvi itself. The number of times 'money' appears in his statement would in any case suggest that he is thinking about something else than just the merits of ccsvi lib...

* Generally, when necessary, Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans seek help elsewhere because of lack of specialized expertise - and typically the government will pay for procedures performed in other provinces on this basis. Waiting lists for procedures tend to be long if not life threatening - but if ...

One of the MSSC/NMSS studies being run out of Toronto is on CCSVI in pediatric MS cases.

As my handle suggests, I live in Newfoundland. Dr. Stone is just telling it like it is - sadly. Some context: 1. Newfoundland & Labrador is a relatively poor province, which is only now coming into its own due to oil revenues. It is still hard to attract and retain specialist doctors to treat the 51...

Not fraud if you disclose. I have seen contracts with insurers in which a pwMS contractually agrees to forego the same value of MS drugs in exchange for the cost of the treatment.

There was a news piece here in NL that he has already meet with the NL Minister of Health (Jerome Kennedy). Presumably he is going to present him with the materials.
