Dear Dr S:
I'm wondering if it's possible or likely to get vein thrombosis after CCSVI ballooning- no stents. I read about it. How can this happen?

Does anyone know what stents are used in the USA? Are hey made of metal? Do they have a name? I'm concerned that I will need one since I have A valve in my left IJV that is stuck partially closed. I don't know how this can be fixed.
