If I were you I would look into long term care insurance so you will have peace of mind for whatever happens in your future - do it before any MS diagnosis otherwise you won't qualify. I have had no problem getting insurance and I am self employed. Right now I'm on Anthem BCBS. None of us have any i...

The symptom that got me going to the neuro and got me on the road to an MS diagnosis was heat intolerance that caused my left leg to become floppy like a wet noodle. In hindsight - about two and a half years before the actual dx - I was stricken with what the doctor called a case of bell's palsy whi...

Protein detected in Urine test
I went in for the monthly blood draw and urine sample deposit and got a call that I have to go back to get my urine checked again. They detected protein in it and want to retest to see if it's still there. Has any other campather had this happen? Anybody know what it might mean in regard to campath?...

Too close to home...
I got a phone call from my brother yesterday. He was dx'd with ON. His eye doc sent him for an MRI and a follow up with a neuro. The neuro said there was no evidence of demylination but he had a hemorrhage in the back of his left eye optic nerve. I am so relieved because I never ever want anyone in ...

Just Wondering...
Do you get to the point that "fighting" this nasty disease gets futile? I am sick and tired of being sick and tired but I just don't want to fight anymore. I'm not talking suicide...I just don't think it's worth fighting anymore. Nothing seems to really help. No one really seems to want a ...

Campath Rash
I was treated with my second round of Campath in early May. In June I started with a rash that first appeared on my head around my hairline. I initially thought it was the new shampoo I bought so I quit using it. The rash continued and popped up on my torso. I went to my neurologist/study doctor to ...

Hysterectomy & MS
This is a question for the gals... I'm scheduled for a complete hysterectomy in a couple of weeks. I'm not concerned with the actual surgery since I've had two c-sections and hernia surgery but I am concerned with how my body will respond to the changes hormonally. I'm 43 and not menopausal yet. Did...

@CCSVIhusband - thanks for the words of encouragement. I feel like for the first time I'm taking my MS into my own hands and not being pulled by the leash of my neurologist. It's scary. It's a big thing but I'm not getting any better. I hope and pray that it helps. I know it's not a cure but I'm wil...

AMEDS July 16
My date at AMEDS in Poland is July 16th. I am excited, scared plus all the other emotions. What if they don't find anything wrong? What if they can't treat mine? Yikes I'm going crazy. I can't wait till I know more about how my veins look. I could use some words of encouragement and words of advice....
