By they way I suppose I should add a disclaimer here. I have no idea of the quality of the service provided by any of these medical providers. I created this post so that people considering the treatment would have some idea of the cost. The costs indicated are to the best of my knowledge correct, b...

The website for the clinic in Arizona gives the following information re:CCSVI: "The cash price for the diagnostic testing is $2,700. If your studies indicate venous abnormalities, a venogram with venous angioplasty will be offered at the cash price of $7,000. At the present time, insurance is ...

I think DirectMS nailed it. Too often government decisions are influenced by powerful individuals and corporations who put their own interests ahead of the people.

Cost of Liberation procedure

The cost of the Liberation procedure varies widely from one doctor to another. For people to make informed decisions when selecting a doctor they need to know the price. To that end I’ve started this post. I hope others will show the price they were given from whatever sources they have investigated...

Elastic recoil and intimal hyperplasia. The first is the vein retaking its former shape, because it's spent 30+ years in it; think of a garden hose that pops back to how it was. The second is the response of a vein wall to an injury; it regrows like a wound on your arm or a scab might. Elastic reco...

First I want to thank everyone who provided thoughtful answers to the question; why do stenoses occur. I don’t mean to beat a dead horse but this question is becoming even more perplexing to me. It isn’t just a question of why do we get stenoses, but why do they restenose even after they’ve been for...

I am reluctant to discuss politics here because nothing can divide people faster than talking about politics. I really prefer to stand shoulder to shoulder with everyone here in our battle against our common enemy, MS. But I have to point out the irony here; Poland a former communist nation is now t...

The reason Zamboni is not a fan of MRV is that it doesn't indicate flow, it only shows architecture. We spoke about this personally last year in Bologna, since my husband was diagnosed via MRV. He did not find flow issues in people with other neurological disease, and it remains to be seen if the p...

Yes thank you for this. We see so much info in these pages it gets confusing. Some folks report great improvement. Some have little or no improvement and some got worse. But your survey helps to sort things out by by giving us an idea of the likelyhood for each outcome.

This is slightly off topic but about 1 year ago I ended up in the hospital with excrutiating chest pain. The doctor immediately gave me a nitro glycerin pill and a super antacid drink. Happily it turned out not to be a heart attack, just acid reflux. But the next day my MS symptoms seemed somewhat b...

Kate I share your concern about the lack of study on PPMS. In my case neither of my neuros could or would tell me what type of MS I have. I don't have relapses or remissions so that kind of rules out RRMS. Like you, I'm kind of on the fence about whether Liberation would help.

Oh yes Joge's comment reminds me; They are looking for volunteers to participate in the study. You have to be 18 to 55 years old, and have RRMS or SPMS. ( Apparently they don't want any geezers my age to participate  ) 2/3 of the participants will get the real treatment. 1/3 will get the place...

Clinical trial of the angioplasty treatment for MS coming!!

It looks like there is going to be an official clinical trial of the angioplasty treatment for MS. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01089686?term=ccsvi&rank=1 They expect to have results in about 1 year. This is a pleasant and unexpected surprise. But it raises a few questions for those of ...
