Re: 4th Annual ISNVD conference announced
This is coming up next month. Hopefully the 4th conference will accelerate the process of diagnosis and treatment for CCSVI. It should be very interesting.

Re: CCSVI or TOS or both? (new research)
Spoke with Dr. Ahn on Sunday...he is very aware of CCSVI and the TOS overlap. Due to his schedule he is unable to attend the ISNVD Conference in Feb, but he is very interested in sending one of his team members to the meeting. I passed along Kelly Denz's (ISNVD) contact info to him. Dr. Ahn is a rea...

Blood Vessel Endothelial Cells Can Repair, Regenerate Organs
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/10/131008152218.htm In studies appearing in recent issues of Stem Cell Journal and Developmental Cell, the researchers show that endothelial cells -- the cells that make up the structure of blood vessels -- are powerful biological machines that drive regener...

Randomized Trial of Immediate versus Delayed Transluminal Percutaneous Angioplasty to treat Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency Would interested participants consider enrollment if there was the possibility of a 6 month delay in their treatment for CCSVI? All participants would receive treatm...

Oligodendrocytes and REM sleep
It certainly seems likely that cerebral hypoperfusion due to CCSVI would have a negative impact on the ability to obtain REM stage sleep. The reduction in sufficient oxygen, glucose, various hormones, and CSF flow due to CCSVI could certainly help explain the impairment from a human perspective. htt...

Re: CCSVI or TOS or both? (new research)
I will contact Dr. Ahn's office (mail & email), mention our interest in his study and note the ISNVD Meeting in San Francisco, Feb 7-9, 2014. It may be of some benefit for the ISNVD communiations staff to send Dr. Ahn an information packet, if possible. It seems that joint TOS/CCSVI or CCSVI/TOS...

Re: CCSVI or TOS or both? (new research)
Here is a bio-sketch for Dr. Ahn. With more than 30 years of medical experience, board-certified vascular surgeon Samuel S. Ahn, MD, has taught at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1986 to 2006, holding the positions of Lecturer and Examiner...

CCSVI or TOS or both? (new research)
We were looking at this abstract and thought it would be a good idea if these researchers attend the ISNVD Meeting in SF in February. They may not even be aware of the ISNVD. We have dedicated a number of recent posts to the discussion of thoracic outlets syndrome (TOS), a condition which causes com...

Re: CCSVI and persistent left superior vena cava
This is interesting.....related to vena cava flow restriction...
Vena cava compression: An increase in the resistance of the vena cava, as occurs when the thoracic vena cava becomes compressed during a Valsalva maneuver or during late pregnancy, decreases return.
