My story
I have been trying to rack my brain around a lot of things. Thinking back over time. About 2 years ago my skin itched so bad that I ended up with bruises all over my arms and legs, the doctors didn’t know why and eventually they went away. About 4 months ago I went partially color blind (more pinks and reds) but I didn’t even go to the doctor since my father was color blind and I hate going to the doctors and it I didn’t really see it as that serious. I also get spots in the peripheral vision, but not that often. And my sense of smell has skyrocketed. I now smell everything!!
I guess I will see what Neuro says, if I ever hear from them.
Re: My story
I'm not sure this is MS. The itching you had in the past might be relevant. If you have high SED level, they should also look at your C-reactive protein level. A bacterial or viral infection needs to be clearly ruled out but it doesn't sound like it has yet.
There are a lot of things that can produce a high SED level ( https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-proced ... c-20384797 ) but infection is the first thing to ask about.
It will be very difficult to confirm that MS is the problem given your MRI's are clear. That 'overall heavy feeling' might be fatigue and it can have many causes.
Blood tests are just a way of asking a question. What they find will depend of what they have tested for. If they ask the wrong question, they get an irrelevant answer.
I think you should push for a range of tests looking for infection. It will be a process of elimination so it might require you to be forceful.
If your PCP has called 4 times then he or she realizes you are sick. You may need to be admitted to a hospital so they look more deeply. I would push very hard to be investigated in greater detail.
