CK count

Post by Melody »

We have reduced John's lipitor dosage to 10mg from the original 40 mg dose as his CK levels are still slightly elevated. He started on lipitor in Aug 2004 at 40mg then reduced in Aug 2004 to 20 mg now as of November 2005 we are on 10mg. He might end up off it all together at this point.
John was diagnosed Jan 2005. On lipitor 20mg .On Copaxone since July 4,2005. Vitamin D3 2000iu-4000iu (depending on sunshine months)June 10 2005(RX::Dr. O'Connor) Omega 3 as well Turmeric since April 2005. Q10 60mg. 1500mg liquid Glucosamine Nov 2005.

It is one choice but John chose to stay on lipitor more because of the trial going on then for cholesterol. His cholesterol is really not an issue at this time. His MS is also not an issue at this point so he may let the lipitor slide to see if it has caused any of the dramatic improvement. But then again he may chicken out on dropping it all together. Not sure if 10mg will do any good and I have started him on Q10 back on Sept 28 so he may tolerate that dosage well. If he feels the need to hang onto the lipitor I have no problem with it as long as it is not detrimental to his health. 80mg is the study dosage and it is usually the one associated with high CK readings.

I am on Simvastatin, and think it has helped. I think the reason I started on this one was because one of the original articals I read specificly stated simvastatin; and I have had no previous cholestorol problems.

44% was enough to get me started...
