Hello, my name is Teresa and i am 32.
i am a single mum and was diagnosed in jan this year.
I guess i am really lucky, i went to my drs after 3 separate occasions where various parts of my body went numb. I just felt stupid going to the dr and saying my leg was numb but it was burning at the same time, but the pain eventually sent me along and he referred me straight to a neurologist. I got a MRI scan, and i recieved a diagnosis appointment within 3 days of having it, and there i was diagnosed. It took 5 weeks from first drs app to diagnosis.
The thing is from then onwards i didnt really suffer, was tired and had days where my legs wouldnt work propoerly etc..but nothing serious, so i had kind of talked myself into thinking it had been a mistaken diagnosis. I was put on amitriptylene and tramadol for my joint pain. Then last week my right knee and hip stopped bending and burned and even people in the street noticed i couldnt walk properly. Then yesterday i woke up to a totally numb lower half. Its kind of freaked me out, i need to see my ms nurse but i have been ringing her for over a month now without her getting back to me.
Sorry for the rant.
Anyway i plan on using this site to help me with ideas of what medication i actually need, and hopefully to make new friends.
Hello to all

Hi Teresa,
Welcome to ThisIsMS. I hope that you find a suportive community here. It sounds like you might be right in the middle of an attack. If your MS nurse won't respond to your calls, then you may want to try contacting someone else at your doctor's office or your doctor directly. I'm sure that if they knew that the nurse was not being responsive, then they could make some changes to get you the help you need.
