Hi! I've recently "fired" my 16 year old son's neuro, and we're seeking another doctor for him. I know I shouldn't have gotten rid of him before finding someone else, but he was so negligent in my son's care that I really had no other choice. I'm not necessarily interested in finding a MS specialist, just a good neuro with a decent bedside manner! My experience with MS specialist is that NOTHING is an emergency or requires immediate attention, and I tend to disagree. I've worked in the medical field my entire life, so I am not one of those "over-reactors", I just expect attention for my son when it is needed. I don't expect to wait 1-3 weeks for a phone call to be returned, you know???
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Take care!
Kim

You can also try your nearest MS Society chapter. Ask for their referral person. You'll get a list of neuros, and often some informative commentary. I have had excellent results from the MS Society chapters in Seattle and Boston. Good luck to you. Neurologists can be very odd ducks.
