a Canadian neurologist's estimate of numbers treated

Dr. Luanne Metz, the neurologist who is leading the provincial study and is on sabbatical from her position as director of the Foothills Hospital MS clinic in Calgary, estimates about 1,000 of the 11,000 MS sufferers in the province have undergone liberation treatment already.

About 95 per cent of MS patients address the issue when they see their doctors, she said.
First, I wonder what the percentage is here in the US, of patients who bring up CCSVI to their doctors? Is awareness growing?

Second, the estimate that nearly 10% of people in her province have had the procedure seems high to me but maybe it is accurate?

That seems high to me but the Canadians have been bombarded with Ccsvi news almost daily since Nov 2009. Ive seen numbers that over 15,000 people have been treated world wide. I wonder if there is a reliable source of info.

Count the known clinics. Estimate the average rate a clinic sees patients (this is the hard part because you probably have to describe each clinic in terms of size). Guess average length of time clinics have been in business. Do the math. Or set up some kind of global registry.
