Hi everyone,
I may be relocating to coastal Oregon. I know there are few neurologists on the coast and realize I may have to find a neurologist in either Portland, Eugene, Salem, Corvalis or ??
I was wondering if anyone here lives in Oregon and has a neurologist they like if you could PM me with that doctor's name and location.
I also need an endocrinologist & urologist. Moving to the Oregon coast is scary as I'll have to find all new doctors. A good neurologist is my main concern & I appreciate any help/advice as to where I might find the best neurologists in Oregon.
I have opted not to take DMDs any longer. I've had MS for 10 years and am secondary progressive. DMDs did nothing for me and I need a neurologist who is willing to allow me that choice. Fortunately my neurologist here is okay with me quitting DMDs and the only medication I take is for the nerve pain & muscle spasms. Some neuros would probably insist I take a DMD and I need one who understands it's my choice.
Thanks so much!

Relocation to Oregon: neurologist?
Re: Relocation to Oregon: neurologist?
Selkie, congratulations on your move, I'm sure you know how beautiful the coast there is.
I didn't look it up right now, but I believe that the U. Of Oregon has an extraordinary program. they do a lot of studies there. I think you would be able to meet all of your needs there...if you pack a lunch...
I think that particularly in a research setting you should be able to find a Doc that respects your wishes for your care plan.
Best to you Selkie.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle..
Re: Relocation to Oregon: neurologist?
Thank you very much - nothing is certain yet. is the U of Oregon in Portland? If so, I believe that's about a 2 hour drive one way from the coast. A bit impractical and we may have to rethink the move if clinics along the coast aren't able to offer complete medical services. But you know what they say about planning for the future...
