generic vs brand name drugs

Post by rsuitter »

Does anyone have feedback on the quality of the various generic forms of Azithromycin, Doxycycline, and Metronidazole.
I am really skeptical of drugs made in India.
The generic drugs are much cheaper, so I would like to go that route if possible, but not if safety and quality are in question.
Also, can anyone recommed an online source that does not require a prescription.
Thanks

We are in the US, and are looking for a reputable online pharmacy.
There are so many fradulent online pharmacies, we don't want to get ripped off.
What are the European generics called. Do they go by a different name, what company makes them.
Thanks

I'll send you a list of suppliers by private message.

In both Europe and the United States, if you are prescribed anantibiotic it will more than likely be a generic one and antibiotics are so inexpensive to make I doubt if there is musch foul play: it ould cost more. What you have to watch out for are expensive anti-cancer drugs and of course, sex drugs: that is where money can be made.

I have bought stuff from India for friends and apart from the idiosyncratic way they have of sending it, it works, which is what you want.

Lib, the companies who sell brand name as well as generic drugs are fine, even if they are based in India. I have bought brand name rulid from somewhere in Thailand and it was genuine: the box was exactly the same as my French stuff and the expiry date was plain to see. I bought it for three years from 2005 - 2008 and I wasn't poisoned. After I finished treatment, I bought some generic rulid for someone else from both Thailand and India and he got completely better. My husband has also taken the Indian stuff for a mouth infection, which it cleared easily. There are companies around selling fake drugs and by and large they have been discovered now by Interpol, so in a way, the ones still in business are now safer.

Every place I recommend sells stuff plastered with expiry dates, licenses and so on: I wouldn't recommend such places otherwise.
