Only your doctor can tell you that, erin.
Have you been checked at all for restenosis or the status of your stents?
Jeff remains on his baby aspirin, and it's been 4.5 years with good flow, no restenosis, stents look great, and his doctor wants him to keep the program he is on going.

Erin--maybe you could get follow up with Dr. McDonald in Barrie---he would be someone for follow up, if you get a referral? I really wish our Canadian friends had follow up. You shouldn't have to ask non-medical people questions on this forum. I'm sorry.

Erin, the only thing I can give you is my personal experience and opinion.

Having had four stents in my neck for exactly 4 years and 4 months, I can attest to the following:
After multiple follow ups, the stents are exactly where they were to begin with, granted under
the layer of skin that materialized after they were implanted. The first three months are the most
critical, after that its a wait and see approach.

I purchased from Costco (back then), 2 bottles of 500 count 81 mg aspirins.

I have yet after 4 years to consume both bottles, though am getting close.

If I take them for anything, its for my extremely elevated CRP, or in proper
parlance, "cardiac risk profile", which is off the charts. The stents dont bother me
anymore, I rarely think about them, but if a measly 81mg aspirin is all the
consideration here, take it, it cant hurt but only help. Dr's be damned because
your hero one day doesnt remember you tomorrow, YOU are responsible for your
health. 81 mg is nothing, your stents are more than likely just chilling bothering
nothing. I take my aspirin when I think about it but obviously my 1,000
aspirins have lasted longer than they should have, I dont worry about it much, because
there is little to prove their efficacy in venous jugular stents anyways, all the studies
quoted are iliac or cardiac within a short time frame, we are way beyond that.

If it makes you feel better, take it, cant hurt. Thats all a four stenter has to say
about it...
