Dr. Haacke has arranged for Dr. Zamboni to have a 3 Tesla MRI machine to study CCSVI. This is the first 3 Tesla MRI in all of Europe.

I think Zamboni chose his words a little more carefully. The Google English translation comes out as "A similar machine does not exist in Europe, says Paolo Zamboni"

I did a quick check in Google as I found it hard to believe, considering how common they were here in the outpost of Australia, and one of the links had the 3T MRI operational.

The system was installed in December 2004 and has been operationally active since January 2005, Philips said. It makes it the third Philips MR system installed at LUMC and the fifth 3.0T installation in the Netherlands, Philips said.
Maybe by "similar" it is meant for use by vascular investigation? who knows, something was more than likely lost in the translation, or interpretation by the interviewer.

It's the "technology" that's new, not the machine, but what they'll be doing with it....and Dr. Haacke will have a residency at the University of Ferrara to teach the technicians his MRV protocol, and to develop software and new ways to measure CSF and CBF. Here's a video with more info. (in Italian)

Pretty exciting stuff from the ISNVD team.

what great news. Dr.Haacke is becoming one of the top medical experts in CCSVI.
How can anyone not come to understand that CCSVI is gaining ground each and every day ? There must be alot of angst in certain medical circles , as CCSVI grows in interest and validity.
