1400mg a day of magnesium could drive your calcium way out of balance and make you feel pretty bad :S
when you feel anxious or tired, aim for minimum 600mg magnesium per day from food and supplements combined. if you feel ok, aim for 400mg of magnesium per day from diet and supplements combined.
zinc 15mg is fine. the upper limit is 40mg so you can double up if you like. even triple, on days you eat bread. the zinc should help your body make use of the magnesium as well.
do you remember if you would have had that uric acid test done after drinking coffee? could it make sense for that to be why the level was higher?

Re: how to rise blood pressure
- how magnesium impacts calcium status?jimmylegs wrote:1400mg a day of magnesium could drive your calcium way out of balance and make you feel pretty bad :S
- it took 1400mg of mag glycinate that has 250mg elemental mag
- all my test are carried out in the morning with empty stomach (no drinks either).do you remember if you would have had that uric acid test done after drinking coffee? could it make sense for that to be why the level was higher?
Re: how to rise blood pressure
re the 250 elemental mag, yes fair enough - 1400 would be about what I would get if I took multiples of my pills. I just take one at a time though. 581mg mag glycinate delivering 100mg elemental mag.
mag and calcium work together on muscle function. not enough magnesium, you can end up with stiffness, spasticity. too much mag, you can compete with the calcium too much, resulting in muscle weakness.
so, this uric acid number, still a bit of a mystery then. did you ever take inosine?

Re: how to rise blood pressure
I have no idea about uric acid level, I already posted my result in another thread and I didn't find a reason why it is that high.
I found out something interesting while reading about EBV and its treatment. I found out that arginine competes with lysine that is antiviral and is proven to work on herpes virus.
And quess what, I was eating 50-100g of nuts per day. Nuts are high in arginine. One of side effects of arginine is low BP.
I begin suplementing Lysine and stop nut consumption.

Re: how to rise blood pressure
My current regimen is:
Lysine 500mg - 2-3x
Olive leaf extract 750mg - 1x
Zinc 15mg - 1x
I noticed that the vessels on my arms are now often bulging (they were hard to before and especially when I had low BP attacks). How come? Does it mean my BP rised? I don't have possiblity to check my BP this week.
Maybe I feel better, I'm affraid to write that I do feel better because I tried many supplements and I often had very strong placebo effect.
