Re: Tecfidera
Of all the drugs out there why did they offer that one? I assume they at least went over all the other drugs on the market?
You really should learn about all the treatment options and make your own (informed) decision.
There are good and bad things about every different type of drug out there.
Be wary of a doctor that is just pointing you in one direction.... in my opinion at least.
Best wishes,
Chris

Agreed. There's no hurry. The MS drugs aren't about relieving symptoms, they're about reducing relapse and lesion frequency. Take a month or so and look over the drug's Doctor's Prescribing Information and try to make an informed decision (these pamphlets are usually tucked into a pocket of the glossy (and often uninformative) brochures they give patients, they're also available from the manufacturer's web site). I did this when I was first diagnosed. I looked up any word I didn't know in a medical dictionary. I wound up knowing more about the meds than my neurologist. You can start by asking your doctor why he thinks Tecfidera is the best choice for you out of all the other available MS meds.Youarethecure wrote:Of all the drugs out there why did they offer that one? Hi,
Agreed. Make sure your doctor knows about this and follows the appropriate protocol.
(Bet he doesn't even know!)
