Tysabri infused in Canada

Post by Chilcotin »

I was talking to the Biogen/Tysabri toll-free help line yesterday and Monday and according to them the first two Tysabri infusions were to take place today in the northern Ontario (central Canada) city of Sudbury (2001 population - approximately 155,000).

So it looks like Tysabri has arrived in Canada. :)

Any Canadians out there who have been infused could you please share your experiences.

From the sunny (finally!) west coast,

Anyone living in Northern Ontario wouldn't likely consider Sudbury part of that area since it's considered central Ontario :D

I really find it interesting that the first Tysabri infusions would be done there considering there are the huge MS Clinics in Toronto, Ottawa, London and Hamilton. Certainly would like to learn why Sudbury was chosen!

Thanks for the geography lesson

Thanks Harry for correcting me on my Ontario geography. I was there in 1971 and it seemed to me that it was up north but I guess I should have looked at a map first. I was a travel counsellor for 25 years before getting MS so I should have known better.

The nurse at Biogen/Tysabri said that Sudbury just happened to be ready first with their infusion center...it just worked out that way...no special reason for it going first.
