Considering only 1/3 of those that were contacted responded, the findings of the survey may not be all that relevant!
Re: MS patients willing to change diet, survey finds
It shouldn't be a surprise that patients are willing to try dietary changes.
Let's face it, MS is a nasty disease. In extreme cases it can be a fate worse than death. And the mainstream medical community doesn't have much to offer. So who wouldn't be willing to change their diet to avoid a fate worse than death? Maybe a better question would be; what wouldn't you try to avoid a fate worse than death?
I have three rules regarding what I would be willing to try:
1) It has to be something that makes sense. There must be reason to believe it might help. So Dr. Mobuto's voodoo clinic is out.
2) It can't be something that might kill me or make me worse.* So rattlesnake venom is out too.
3) It must be relatively inexpensive. The mainstream DMDs can cost $40 to $50 thousand per year. Hell with them.
So diets meet all of those criteria. The Liberation treatment ( venoplasty) does too although its a bit on the pricey side.
* If I get to the point where I would say either cure me or kill me, then I'll waive the requirement about not killing me.
