How long can a relapse last?
I am new and undiagnosed so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. Short history had one major neuro event 20 years ago (extreme burning skin, vision issues, numbness and weakness) with clean MRI at the time. Over the years have had little weird neuro symptoms I have ignored. Ten weeks ago I woke up with numb arms and have been battling numbness/weakness/ blurry vision and multiple other symptoms ever since. MRI showed non-specific brain changes so I am in limbo. IF this is an MS relapse how long do they last? Never expected this to go on for 10 weeks! Boo!!

Hi,
I think you need to look away from MS.
Get your basic blood tests first and look for nutritional problems, look for indicators of infection in the blood, the kidney and liver functions. I'm not sure why you say it was a neurological event 20 years ago but whoever told you that may have misled you.
Look at your fasting amino acid levels, your uric acid level, your b12, vit D, your white blood cell count, how you metabolise sugars, your liver function and any other tests your doctor can think of.
Check for Mycoplasma, chlamydia, lyme and its co-infections, bowel and bladder infections and any other infection your doctor deems worthy.
MS is a box full of symptoms and I doubt your presentation should be in that box.
I hope you find an answer.
Regards,

A relapse can last a days, days, weeks, months or even years - there is no one specific time period as each case presents differently.
Your symptoms could be consistent with MS. They are also consistent with many other conditions (there are about 400 illnesses that mimic the symptoms of MS. What do your doctors say?
Since you suspect MS, you may want to consider seeing a neurologist that specializes in MS if you have not already done so.
