Ice packs
Does anyone know where I can get a Gel pack that is small, say about 5" x 5"?? All the ones I find are much bigger and I don't need a big gel pack for my injection site. Any suggestions? I tried shared solutions but they no longer carry them.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Karen (OneEyeBlind)

I tried everywhere! Rite aid, Walgreens, CVS. I have one that is 5x10 (something like that) and I fold it in half but its so bulky! I just want a small one. I had one from a lunchbox or something but it started leaking so I had to throw it away. It was perfect.

FOUND SOME
Have you tried the "Relax the Back Store"? They have various sizes of re-freezable cold packs, very well-made and sturdy, but kinda expensive like the rest of their stuff. (My son and I call the place the "Relax the Wallet Store" ).
Here's a link:

Also here's another link to a site with 5 whole pages of different sized ice packs:http://www.painreliever.com/cold+packs.html
Good luck!

Hey People,
I called (Shared Solutions~Copaxone 800-887-8100) I asked for 2 and she said I would have them in 5 days! Yea!
When I spoke to them back in Sept. 04, they said they didn't have them anymore. I guess a lot of people complained. Whateverd happened I am glad I will have them.
Thanks for all your help!

MSAA Cooling Program
Hi Karen
Even though you've solved your problem I thought you (since you're from New Jersey ) and others might be interested in knowing about the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) Cooling Program. Some of their products include cooling gel packs, etc.
This is the main page of the MSAA Cooling Program. They distribute lots of products free to people with MS including cooling vests, hats and plenty of things I didn't know existed.
Here's the product catalog and here's a link to the application.
I understood last year that supplies were limited so anyone who is interested might want to consider applying sooner rather than later.
I got a charming garden hat that I adore and keeps me cool.

"Makedo" gel packs...
Hi all, and hope everyone is well.
A friend told me about this, and I tried it-it works!
As most of us know, our meds come packed in gel packs, to keep the med cold. If you need a gel pack quickly, place one in a reclosable bag, and then wrap it in a towel, and use.
It's a "makedo" that seems to work for me! (if you prefer, you can just wrap a towel around the gel pack and forego the plastic bag)
Take care all, and be well!

Re: Ice packs
I made my own when my daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled. In a freezer bag, mix one part rubbing alcohol to two parts water. Get as much air out of the bag as possible before you seal it, and then just freeze it. You can even put a couple drops of blue food coloring in it.
