High Dose Vitamin C
High Dose Vitamin C
I saw this website and wondering if this is true that too much vitamin C can cause D intoxication?
https://vitaminadperlasclerosimultipla. ... sclerosis/
Causes of intoxication include poor compliance with advised preventive measures, preparation of cholecalciferol by unskilled personnel, incidental uncontrolled hyperthyroidism, pyelonephritis (to which patients with neurogenic urinary retention are particularly prone), concomitant ingestion of high doses of vitamin C, and treatment carried out without medical supervision at the patient’s own risk without recommended diet, hydration and/or laboratory tests. SO IT’S OBLIGATORY TO STAY UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION! It is advised to have Medical follow-ups!

Mother was on Rituximab and prednisone for Microscopic Polyangiitis which attacked the kidneys and lungs.
Drs denied her dialysis and appropriate treatment for her MPA and forced her into hospice.
She is in heaven and free from pain.

Re: High Dose Vitamin C
Dr Coimbra mentions here at frame 25:00
That very high doses of vitamin C may cause oxalosis.

Re: High Dose Vitamin C
Yes, it is true.
My doctor here in Argentina said that I can't take vitamin C supplements. I mean high doses of vitamin C.
But the restriction of vitamin C isn't so extreme as the calcium restriction.
Coimbra Protocol needs to be applied by a certificated doctor.

The doctor wasn't specific about how much vitamin C I can take.
He said that, if I don't take any vitamin C supplement then I don't need to pay attention to it.
Only to pay attention to my calcium intake.
Re: High Dose Vitamin C
Hi mrtmeo,
Second my brother's doctor:
If you take something nearly the current recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin C - 60 mg/d. Then you don't need to worry about it.
You only need to worry if you exceed 1g/d of vitamin C.
There are people that take vitamin C supplements. However, they do it with a physician supervision.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I usually give my mom 250mg C, but if she has a herpes flare, I give liposomal 2gms every 12 hrs and liposomal is more powerful than IV C.

Re: High Dose Vitamin C
So 2 grams per day of vitamin D would be a problem?

Hi zjac020,
Yes, definitively.
If you take 2 grams/day of vitamin C you really need to have a certified doctor guiding you. At least, at the beginning of the treatment.
It can mess up your results with high doses of vitamin D.
