So about 2 months ago I woke up with moderate neck pain. I went to the ER during the day. They ran a bunch of tests which came back negative. During the next 5 days I was getting weakness. During the 5th night, I got this bad pressure sensation under my armpits where it felt like someone was squeezing something under them. A few nights later I had an episode where my left shoulder girdle, abdomen, and thigh spasmed like crazy. I also would get involuntary jerking of my extremities. I also had immediate body wide fasiculations. I developed scalpular winging on both sides of my body shortly after. I had progressive weakness throughout my body as well. Several weeks later the twitching spread to my temple. Within the next week my face started to get weaker, especially my lips. I had twitches on my nose, eye brows, lips, and jaw. My lips are constantly dry now. I also get this sensation where I can feel my heart beat on parts of my body. I now have lower leg weakness. I had numbness in my hands at first but only at night when I would wake up in the middle of the night. It's normal during the day but sometimes fine motor skills are annoying. I also developed tinnitus and ear pain a few weeks ago. I still have twitching but it's not as severe as it was. My body weakness is still noticeable mainly in my shoulders, legs, and lower back.
I had two emg's. One was done in mid October which showed nerve slowing in all 4 extremities with motor and sensory changes. I also had fibrillations in my mid back and butt cheeks. Fasiculations in my calves. The second emg showed normalish nerve speed. Fibrillation (less severe) in the same areas except now my paraspinal muscles in the lumbar area had them.
I've had MRIs of my cervical spine, brachial plexus, thighs at first. All normal. I had a brain and cervical spine MRI with and without contrast last week. The brain showed a chiari (which I've had for all my life) other wise normal. The cervical spine showed a "questionable demyelinating plaque" with no enhancement from the contrast. The neuro who ordered it said it's No lumbar done. No upper motor neuron symptoms that I'm aware of. I've had OODLES of blood work which was normal. Along eith genetic testing for muscular dystrophy. More blood work is still pending. Does this sound like MS to anyone? I'm a 29 year old male.
Been through the gauntlet, does this sound like MS?

The symptoms of MS are common to many conditions so… Yes, you could have MS. But the odds are more likely that one of the other conditions is responsible for your symptoms. Vitamin D deficiency is one of these possibilities.
If the vitamin D blood test called the 25-Hydroxy D was done in the "OODLES blood work" (test is not part of any standard panel and must be specifically requested), do you have (or can you obtain) the actual test result numbers. It is NOT adequate simply to hear "normal." Always ask for your own copy of any test results.
A consensus of vitamin D experts and some neurologists recommend a vitamin D level between 80-100 ng/mL for patients who have neurological symptoms.

Hi,
It's 5 or 6 weeks since those tests in October. Has nobody done anything else since then? What were the tests and do you have the results?
Are you under the care of a neurologist?
