The pictures are interesting. My lipoatrophy would be as bad as that of Cases 4 and 5 alright and I see that there was advise to stop Copaxone. I have not been advised to stop it. Without Copaxone I had relapse after relapse, 4 per year.

Has anyone tried anything to alleviate Lipoatrophy?

I am trying keloid scar silicone dressings at the moment, just to see if they help it, but don't have much hope....

I'm female, 30, was on Copaxone for almost a year and a half and had severe lipoatrophy by the time I switched to another DMD.

Female 50 on Copaxone for 13 months, weight 135 lbs. Slight Lipo in both thighs and back on one arm. Neuro nurse said it should improve with in time, since I wasnt on it that long.

I am 51 and female, and, like the women in the article, didn't know this was a problem till I heard about it. Mostly I inject in thighs and buttocks, and it really is a bit bumpy these days. I have never looked like Madonna, so I don't care at all what I look like in a swimsuit - at my age you give up on bikinis. Cop allows me to live a normal life, so I will carry on injecting till they develop something better.

I will, however, follow the advice in the article, and take more care in rotating sites.

Actually, if this stuff is destroying fat I want more of it, maybe they could develop a spray for me so I could apply it evenly...

Female, age 42, have been on Copaxone since 10/2007 after MRI showed increased lesion size.

No significant progression or flare in that time period. No IPIR. No issues with lipoatrophy. I use a home-made rotation chart that allows me to only use a site 1x/month.

Will have an MRI in September and see how it compares to the one done last fall. Copaxone is an easy med for me to "use as directed".
