Can search function be combined with a highlight?

Post by notasperfectasyou »

I want to search the sight for "MMP-9". Ideally, I'd like the term "MMP-9" to be highlighted in the threads I click on after the search. This would make it easier to review the search results. Is this possible? Ken
It would be really nice to be able to put links in here

If I have included a bad link, google the word "Scholar", click link for "Google Scholar". Search for the name of the paper and author in Google Scholar.

The highlighting feature is the way that the search function normally works. It seems that the problem is that your query term has a hyphen in it. If you take a look at the URL for a search result for "MMP-9" you should note that the mmp9 is present without a hyphen. For example, http://www.thisisms.com/ftopicp-46973-mmp9.html#46973. I suspect that this why the highlighting feature is not working with this particular query. This is a problem with the forum software and not something that I have control over. As an alternative, you could always try searching for MMP and that term should wind up highlighted in the results. Also note that you will get more precise results for your search if you select "Display results as: Posts" rather than as "Topics" as some threads can be several pages long making it dificult to find the particular post of interest.
