Optic neuritis vs optical Migraine
If I were you I would say nothing about MS but recommend your friend to keep an eye on it and go to the dr if any other symptoms show. It could well be something like MS but if it isn't you don't want to worry them unneccesarily. I would maybe suggest they get a second opinion just to be on the safe side.
