Well, announcing that they will accept funding propsals and/or that they are in discussions about joint projects is just a very preliminary step.

I believe the window announced for CCSVI applications at the Canadian Society was very narrow. We don't know if anyone will actually be able to get a good proposal together that quickly, or if it will be approved.

This is the only definitive word I found on the US NMSS site:

"The National MS Society is interested in funding research in CCSVI in MS. The Society welcomes research proposals from any qualified investigators whose research questions are relevant to multiple sclerosis. All proposals received are thoroughly evaluated for their relevance and excellence by our volunteer scientific peer review panels. We have invited researchers to apply for grant funding to explore this lead. If we receive a proposal related to CCSVI that is found to be outstanding and relevant to MS, we would likely commit to fund such a study."

Not exactly an endorsement of the CCSVI paradigm, or even a show of much sincere interest IMO. Hopefully someone will put togather a good proposal that will get funded. We'll see.
