MS WALK/RESEARCH

Post by esta »

Because of the recent discontent with our National MS Societies throughout the world, I would like to encourage every one to make a strong presentation to their local Chapters at their next board meeting to express the serious concerns we all have in regards to CCSVI Research and donations being redirected.
At our board meeting last night, we felt we resolved this issue by giving donors, on their form, the new option under Research, of checking the box that says CCSVI. They will have other options also, but whoever is doing the fundraising can encourage this option. This requires a simple redesign and can be managed by approaching their board with this information ASAP. This way the MS Society at the National level must donate this money to CCSVI research. Also, this way everybody wins because client services is still supported and as we all know is extremely vital to so many throughout the year. They need their share to continue.

It's simple, even cut/paste this and send it to your chapter. If possible show up in person, and even better get a few people together and make the presentation, but do it quickly, time is everything. :D :D :D

esta,

That's a great, simple suggestion! Was there any discussion about the options for CCSVI research funding? I just wonder what will qualify as true CCSVI research and how they will know about all eligible studies. Also, did they discuss coordinating the funding with other branches so that a big project, like UBC's, can get off the ground right away rather than spreading funding over a number of projects and none of them are funded enough to get going soon?

Thanks,

~ Sandra

i want to say yes to all your questions, but...it never got that far. on our walk pledges there will be a check-box for CCSVI research. I was thrilled with that, soooo for the rest of BC, yes you should specify THE UBC CLINIC...
