I saw the movie yesterday. Made me wonder .... the man is paraplegic from a war injury... he is a marine. When he becomes an Avatar, he has his legs back,...! He loves it !!! Nothing like science fiction...
The general in the film talks about 'getting his legs fixed' if he accomplishes the mission (price to pay). Later, the general says they obtained 'approval' to have the procedure paid to fix his legs.... Man... it sort of implied that even in the future, people would have to PAY to get a spinal injury cured....
Left me with a bitter taste.... Otherwise,
the movie has wonderful colors and animation... enjoy.. Carole

I just saw it yesterday as well. The thing that struck me was that it's probably the first blockbuster movie to have a paraplegic in the starring role. And yes, the story of a man on his quest to regain lost ability definetly hit home for me too. Too bad we're not colonizing other planets yet
