I will agree it - CCSVI liberation - hasn't been scientifically "proved". Nobody argues this, yet it seems to continue to get brought up ...
However, you take 3,000+ people ... notice very similar patterns, in anecdotal reports --- and it IS reasonable to draw some conclusions.
Personally, I wouldn't be willing to wait 10 years for science to "prove it" ... if it ever does. (and I don't mean that in a way that it won't be proven, because as anyone who has seen what liberation can do first hand will tell you, it's certainly real) ...
I say that because, AGAIN, any statistician worth his salt can design a study to show exactly what they want to on any topic. That's the way it works ...

Cece--
don't waste a minute on it. Seriously. Get outside today, go for a walk, enjoy your family, keep healing, keep working to help researchers and other patients. The doctors have got it under control. Really.
(just some advice from someone who's dealt with pms and baiting and found that it really didn't matter.) But your physical and emotional health is of the utmost importance. And being on the computer and getting worked up over people you'll never meet in real life ain't worth it.
xoxo and wishes for a lovely day--

^ agree with cheer 100% ...
they ain't worth it ... and nothing we say is going to change their opinion, hopefully science proves it to them before it's too late for them to do anything about it personally ...
If not ... anecdotal is enough for me and you!
Enjoy this beautiful day and your improved bloodflow!

How hurtful and wrong can you be Lyon? CeCe does nothing but help others to understand what we know so far. She is NOT dangerous and would not do anything to hurt others! Her "need to protect the reputation" stems from her knowledge and beliefs. To border on disregard of the well being of others for the sake of CCSVI is unthinkable!!! She as do I want answers and believe in this theory. There is truly not MUCH else to believe in when it comes to MS! Your statement is VERY unfair and if your having a bad day, keep it to yourself! PLEASE!Lyon wrote:Rosegirl has a point. CCSVI isn't even proven.
It's bad enough that Dr's speculate about what should or shouldn't be done regarding something that might not even exist to say nothing of a layperson. In Karate lessons my instructor pointed out that the most dangerous person is someone who knows just enough to get themselves (and others) in trouble. That's Cece.
I don't know if Rosegirl addressed it in her PM's to Cece but one of the most concerning points was the obvious distress Cece was showing through that thread regarding her need to "protect the reputation" of CCSVI to the exclusion of all else.
Although objectivity is obviously optional here at thisisms Cece's actions in this thread seemed to me just over the border of willing disregard for the well being of others for the sake of CCSVI.
Boyfriend dx'd 6-6-06!!! RRMS............CCSVI procedure done on Nov. 13, 2010 and March 7, 2011 by Dr. Sclafani!

Also regain lost ability to transfer after CCSVI. (SPMS-do have flow)

HP ... where'd your post go? That was GREAT (and true) ... too bad it's gone now.
IS IT REALLY NECESSARY?

Lyon, did you have a chance to read what I posted recently about permissive lesions? Option #4 is that the abnormal veins tip people over into having MS when a secondary factor is involved (a multitude of abnormal veins? a hyperactive immune system?). Treatment is to treat the permissive lesion(s).
This is going to sound and be taken as nasty, inflammatory or intentionally argumentative but honestly isn't intended that way, therefore the following is all I have to say on the matter so that this doesn't end up being another locked thread.
Considering that Zamboni first proposed CCSVI as a factor in MS, before CCSVI became a point of consideration it should have first been convincingly shown that people with MS more have venous obstructions more often and more seriously than "normals" and to date that still waits to be shown.
Considering that most basic and necessary factor remains to be proven I can't justify spending any more time on reading, consideration or arguing how something that might not even exists, works.

happy monday everyone!
please note this is not an invitation to bully or otherwise abuse via pm channels. If you disagree with someone, please succintly state why and let it go at that. Point, counterpoint, counter-counter point, etc. is not useful-- the reality is that after the first disagreement, you will rarely convince another of something they feel strongly about unless you have shocking new information to share. The drawn-out debates also turn people off from reading the messages in the first place. If you really have to get something off your chest, please send that person a Private Message-- there is no need to have a long argument in public.
