Very very low blood sugar & MS

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Lynda, thank you for your comments.

how do you think about Glutamine as an alternative source?
is that also exciting the insulin pump?

When I had the stenoses in the neck veins, I eat low fat because too much fat would risk to narrow the veins even further.
But after liberation, my veins are wide open so I could theoretically take more fat.
As the BBB gets to withstand a lot more insulin now (because of hugely improved blood flow), I am convinced I need to cut down on sugar consumption.
But then, should I increase my fat consumption at the same time, to get the ketone supply mechanism to work?

Hi after reading this topic on Bilirubin,

I was wondering if anybody has measured bilirubin and sugar levels to see if they correlate.

Leonard-– I am no expert on amino acids, and have no real opinion on glutamine. I do not know of any effect glutamine would have on insulin secretion. I know that glutamine is an energy source for the muscles, that it is found in protein (as are all amino acids, I believe), that meat and eggs are good sources of glutamine.

I think it is a very good idea to remove sugar from your diet!

Without glucose in the bloodstream, I understand that the body will automatically change to ketones as the energy source. It is not necessary to increase your fat consumption to effect the change.

However, medium chain fats, such as coconut oil, are very good for a person (even though coconut oil is a saturated fat).

Leonard – Just to reinforce the idea of removing sugar from your diet, there is LOTS to read from a recent newsletter by Dr. Joseph Mercola. According to him, study after study has linked high sugar consumption to many health problems:

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/artic ... ngers.aspx

Reference #42 finds a connection between sugar and MS:
•[42] Erlander, S. The Cause and Cure of Multiple Sclerosis, The Disease to End Disease." Mar 3, 1979;1(3):59_63

I have not read the source; maybe someone else has? Sounds interesting.
