EBV

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

thanks jimmy legs. i did not know until i read your link that garlic and oil mixture cooked or raw setting at room temp. is a perfect enviroment to produce botulism. you woudn't think it.

anyway, the herpes they are implicating in ms-is there a specific herpes virus? don't think any are good to have--it know he posted the ebv type. is that a herpes 1 or 2? small pox chicken pox?

i know i'm smart enough to admit i'm dumb on this.

i haven't really seen anything specific on ms and cold sores.

just commenting when viruses are mentioned that selenium seems to be protective against viruses, including herpes simplex 1 (cold sores), EBV, even HIV. when you posted about garlic, i just thought, i wonder how much selenium garlic provides? i hadn't known it was 'seleniferous'. interesting stuff.

EBV blocks the receptors during the first phase of the disease.

Hi Everyone,

If you haven't seen it already, could I suggest you have a look at the posts under the Regime section called "Avonex and Valtrex". It deals in some detail with what you are looking at here. I am absolutely sure that EBV is the major underlying trigger for MS. It resides in B cells and is able to avoid the immune system by being Pyrimidine loaded. There is quite a lot of detail on how it replicates through either a latent or lytic cycle and how I have remained well for a very long time by using a known antiherpes drug, Valtrex, and the Interferon product, Avonex, I was able to control my MS. Through a great deal of research I have noted the EBV infected B cells produce two molecules of oxygen (called superoxide) and when this comes into contact with the naturally occuring Nitric oxide in the brain and CNS it produces the highly toxic radical, peroxynitrite. This substance disables a range of normal activities involving the krebs cycle and results in low levels of essential amino acids, low ATP levels and disables a range of nuclear receptors in cells including those known as Thyroid like receptors (including the Vitamin D receptor). It is the combination of these factors that make us fatigued and disabled.
If you want to find natural substances to attack EBV you need to include a large glass of carrot juice each day. This provides the body with safe doses of two retinoids; all trans retinoic acid which can damage the capsid of the EBV and 9 cis retinoic acid which is required to activate the retinoid X receptor that is the master switch for the thyroid like receptors.
I hope you find it of some help.
Regards
