Coenzyme Q10

The purpose of the Q10 is really to aid the recycling of ATP. He adds L-Carnitine because it provides a transport mechanism across the mitochondrial membrane and D-Ribose (which I have never tried as it's not on sale in Australia that I can find) which acts like a glue to hold ATP together.
Once the ATP is released back into the cytosol from the mitochondria, magnesium helps it move around the cell and find it's way to the sodium/potassium gateway where the energy is spent.
The whole mechanism is complex but they would be the big components. That doesn't invalidate using other nutrients.
