My daughter

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

I understand her fear...after all the meds she took (and the ones her husband took when he went to Kuwait) would cause concern. But as her doctor explained, most of his patients have that fear! I hate that it does overshadow what should be a glorious occasion but I certainly do understand it! I do what I can to encourage her to ENJOY! I hope she is able to get into the experience 100%! I know I am--LOL!

My only concern are the twins that run in her husband's family---sigh!

I cna relate! I had 4 pregnancies in 3 years (lost one). I think Kate of Jon & Kate plus 8 fame was nuts when she chose to have multiples--6 more. It always reminds me of someone having a "litter" of children. Sorry for my negativity, but really...people need to really think about these decisions!

How many kids do you have Lyon? Any grandkids???

Before you know it, your kids will be in college! The rapid rate at which my kids grew once they started school was breath-taking! My SIL is 37 and Suzy is 31. The perfect age I think to have the maturity necessary to be the best parents they can be!

Good luck with your kiddos! and future grandkids!

She went to her OB/GYN yesterday. When he asked about health issues, she told him about her MS diagnosis. His eyebrows shot straight up--LOL! Asked if she was on any meds, blah, blah. blah. She explained her natural treatment for the past 3 years. He explained the stoppage of MS while pg and the HUGE relapse possibility after birth but feels since she has had not any real issues in 3 years, she will probably be fine. She has contacted Vonner for their additional guidance. And she is TERRIFIED she will lose the baby! Yesterday she told the doctor, "I am scared to death!" and burst into tears!

I told her to ENJOY and trust in God...He will take care of her and her baby. If something happens then it was not meant to be. And her doctor pointed out: Now you know you can get pregnant!

Lots of emotions rolling around..I am just plain giddy! I have 3--count them THREE--children and this is my FIRST!!! We all live in different cities and I am trying to sell my house here so I can take early retirement and move up with my girls.

Hope all of you are doing well...thanks! Chris
She should be fine. I had MS for almost 18 years now and I had 3 babies within 5 years apart. I went off the pill and I was popping babies out like a pez dispenser. I finally got my tubes tied. My youngest is 14 months old. All babies are healthy and I am fine chasing them around all day and I have no help.

Your daughter is new to MS ( IMHO) so it's normal to be scared. I thought I would have a serious attack after each baby and I didn't. Had all babies by c-section which is harder because you have to recover from surgery.

( I am a female by the way, I know it says guitarguy, my husband started this account on the forum :) )

Hi Chris
I agree your daughter should be fine. I had a baby a year and a half ago. Had a relapse 6 months after the birth but just severe fatigue and stuttering, both passed after a while. I only realised when I relapsed that my vitamin D was at insufficient levels....might be a good idea your daughter get her vitamin D levels tested soon after the baby's birth and supplement if needs be, might help minimise or avoid a relapse. Best of luck.

Thanks Wonder and Guitar...she seems to be relaxing now. Had some really good, positive tests and is working very closely with Vonner Health (her supplement folks). They will be working with her along with her OB/GYN to be sure she gets all the nutrients she needs. She was having her "chest pain" again...Vonner had her increase one of her supplements and the pain went away in 2 days.

So she will do the best she can and will hopefully have a glorious experience with her "first"!

It is just SO EXCITING!!! Thanks again to all of you for the support...
